The Jordanian-born terrorist was Iraq's most-wanted militant as notorious as Osama bin Laden, to whom he swore allegiance in 2004. The United States put a $25 million bounty on his head, the same as bin Laden. Al-Maliki told al-Arabiya television the bounty would be honored, saying "we will meet our promise," without elaborating. We have to brace ourselves for a number of attacks now. Al-Zarqawi becomes a martyr now. And I am afraid there will be plenty of repercussions after this. But, we are lucky to get him. And I applaud the efforts of our forces. Great job.
Al-Zarqawi is believed to have beheaded two Americans à Nicholas Berg of West Chester, Pa., and Eugene Armstrong, formerly of Hillsdale, Mich. prompting supporters to dub him "the slaughtering sheik."

Dear Mr. President, 1. Leviticus 25:44 states that I may possess slaves, both male and female, provided they are purchased from neighboring nations. A friend of mine claims that this applies to Mexicans, but not Canadians. Can you clarify? Why can’t I own Canadians?Zahaqiel reposted this. It's pretty good stuff. The entire thing cracked me up.
2. I would like to sell my daughter into slavery, as sanctioned in Exodus 21:7. In this day and age, what do you think would be a fair price for her?
....
4. When I burn a bull on the altar as a sacrifice, I know it creates a pleasing odor for the Lord - Lev.1:9. The problem is, my neighbors. They claim the odor is not pleasing to them. Should I smite them?
5. I have a neighbor who insists on working on the Sabbath. Exodus 35:2. clearly states he should be put to death. Am I morally obligated to kill him myself, or should I ask the police to do it?
J. Stewart: So why not encourage gay people to join in in that family arrangement if that is what provides stability to a society?Check the video out for yourself:
B. Bennett: Well I think if gay..gay people are already members of families...
J. Stewart: What? (almost spitting out his drink)
B. Bennett: They're sons and they're daughters..
J. Stewart: So that's where the buck stops, that's the gay ceiling.
B. Bennett: Look, it's a debate about whether you think marriage is between a man and a women.
J. Stewart: I disagree, I think it's a debate about whether you think gay people are part of the human condition or just a random fetish.

"My name is Stephen Colbert, but I actually play someone on television named Stephen Colbert, who looks like me, and talks like me, but who says things with a straight face he doesn’t mean."Funny. I guess he went in and out of his "Colbert-persona" to explain to the graduates that:
"Remember, you cannot be both young and wise. Young people who pretend to be wise to the ways of the world are mostly cynics. Cynicism masquerades as wisdom, but it is the farthest thing from it. Because cynics don’t learn anything. Because cynicism is a self-imposed blinder, a rejection of the world because we are afraid it will hurt us or disappoint us.He was recently named one of Time Magazine's 100 most influential people in the world. What an amazing climb he's had since faux-reporter on The Daily Show.
"Cynics always say no. But saying yes begins things. Saying yes is how things grow. Saying yes leads to knowledge. Yes is for young people. So for as long as you have the strength to, say yes.
"And that’s The Word."

President Bush will promote a constitutional amendment banning gay marriage on Monday, the eve of a scheduled Senate vote on the cause that is dear to his conservative backers. So, this has no chance of passing this year. So why bring it up? It is for votes. Disgusting. Why don't they get things done that they have already proposed first!
The amendment would prohibit states from recognizing same-sex marriages. To become law, the proposal would need two-thirds support in the Senate and House, and then be ratified by at least 38 state legislatures.
It stands little chance of passing the 100-member Senate, where proponents are struggling to get even 50 votes. Several Republicans oppose the measure, and so far only one Democrat — Sen. Ben Nelson of Nebraska — says he will vote for it.
Ran another 2 miles tonight. Felt really, really good. I just have to keep it up. This is not something I want to do until a certain date in time. I have to do it 3-4 times a week. My knee is holding up pretty well. I am a bit surprised. But, it comes and goes. I haven't run on back-to-back days yet. So it has had plenty of time to rest up.
